OUTDATED: Mutual Defence Treaty between [TQA] and [SPQR]

Post by Quintus Sertorius on Sat Apr 14, 2018 12:45 pm

Mutual Defence Treaty between The Quantum Alliance [TQA] and The Roman Republic [SPQR]

1. By signing this treaty, [TQA] and [SPQR] declare that if a third party declares war on one of the alliances, the other alliance will join that war on the side of the defender in 24 hours after the war declaration.

2. Members of [TQA] and [SPQR] take the following responsibilities:
1.1. Not to attack the members of the other alliance with any fleets or interplanetary missiles.
1.2. Not to spy on the members of the other alliance with probes, sensor phalanx or any other means.
1.3. Deliberate theft of the debris fields, made by the fleets or defences of the other alliance, is also prohibited.
1.4. Attacks, previously planned and approved by both sides, like moonshots, are not covered by this treaty.
1.5. All kinds of insulting or provocative messages or actions are prohibited.

3. If one of the alliances claims that the terms of this treaty are broken, that alliance must provide sufficient evidence.
2.1. In case of a battle, battle logs should be provided.
2.2. In case of espionage by probing, a screenshot of the espionage report should be provided.
2.3. Since the use of the sensor phalanx usually leaves no trace, the fulfilment of this point of the treaty depends only on the honour of the participants.
2.4. The same goes for the debris theft.
2.5. Adequate evidence should also be provided for all other cases.

4. If the terms of this treaty are broken without malicious intent, all real damage as well as moral damage should be compensated.
3.1. In case of an act of espionage by probing, an apology is enough.
3.2. In case of a recalled attack, an apology is enough.
3.3. In case of a battle, 120% of total damage should be compensated. Automatically reconstructed defences do not count in the total damage. The violator of the treaty must also apologize to the injured party.
3.4. The compensation does not necessarily have to be paid by the violator of the treaty. It can also be paid by other members of the violator's alliance. The violator must apologize personally.
3.5. In all other cases, adequate compensation should also be provided.

5. If the terms of the treaty are broken with malicious intent, the following applies:
4.1. In case of a quarrel, involving insulting messages, both sides of the quarrel are prohibited to talk to each other for a week. Additional penalties may be imposed on the initiator of the quarrel, if both sides agree on it.
4.2. In case the violator doesn't apologize for probing or a recalled attack or continues the espionage  or military activities, the violator must be expelled from the alliance.
4.3. In case of a battle, the violator must be expelled from the alliance. 120% of the damage should also be paid to the injured side.

6. In case any alliance wishes to break the treaty, it will notify the other side at least 48 hours before the treaty is actually broken.

Since TQA no longer exists as a separate alliance (after merging with us), this treaty is over.
